History and development
Kioxia carries forward Toshiba's semiconductor-memory business. The operation was separated as Toshiba Memory in 2017; a holding company was formed in 2019, followed by the Kioxia name. The operating business's NAND-flash heritage is older than the establishment of the listed holding company.
