Advantest makes semiconductor test equipment. Its systems test processors, memory and other chips, helping manufacturers check performance and quality during the production process.
History and development
Advantest began in 1954 as Takeda Riken Industry, founded by Ikuo Takeda. It moved from measuring instruments into semiconductor test equipment in 1972 and adopted the Advantest name in 1985. That progression links its measurement roots to its modern chip-testing business.
