The FANG+ index follows ten actively traded technology and digital-services companies. Its constituents are generally equally weighted and periodically reviewed, so no single giant dominates the measure.
History and development
NYSE FANG+ was launched on September 26, 2017. It introduced an equal-weighted selection of a small group of technology and internet-oriented growth companies. Historical calculations back to September 19, 2014, are back-tested data, not evidence that the index was being published in 2014.

Comparing charts on this board
Compare FANG+ with the Nasdaq-100 to contrast a concentrated, equal-weighted growth group with a broader universe. Their weighting rules differ, making the return gap useful for tracking concentrated growth leadership.
Add the semiconductor index to distinguish chip leadership from the wider digital-services group. The time when their paths diverge is a useful starting point for checking company earnings and news.
