SanDisk develops flash-memory storage products including SSDs, memory cards, USB drives and embedded storage, serving consumer devices as well as enterprise systems.
History and development
The present Sandisk became an independent listed company in 2025 through the separation of Western Digital's flash business. Its brand and operating heritage predate that event. The new listing did not mark the invention of its underlying storage technologies or the beginning of all its operations.

Pair Sandisk with Micron and DRAM to distinguish a flash producer from broader memory pricing. Shared producer and fund strength differs from an isolated corporate move.
SMH adds the wider semiconductor benchmark, narrowing the comparison from the industry to memory and then to an individual business.
