Tesla designs and sells electric vehicles and develops solar and battery-storage products for homes, businesses and power grids. It also provides vehicle software and charging services.
History and development
Tesla was established in California in 2003, with Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning involved in its founding. The first Roadster followed in 2008. Electric-vehicle development expanded into production and energy-related products. Elon Musk's later leadership should be distinguished from the company's initial formation.
