History and development
Apple was founded on April 1, 1976, by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. The Apple I, assembled in the Jobs family's California garage, provided the starting point for a business bringing computing to individuals.
Macintosh, iPod, iPhone and iPad expanded that foundation into integrated hardware and software. Its later services are part of a much broader product ecosystem than the original personal-computer business.
